Department of Foodtechnology

Started in 1995,BSc Food Technology is the pioneer aided stream programme  in Kerala. Subsequently MSc Food Science and Technology was introduced in 2005  under  X  th UGC innovative plan , with spices and plantation products as specialisation. Since this was  the only aided college affiliated to Calicut University  the scheme and syllabus for Food Technological studies were framed by and members of Faculty of Dept of Food Technology ,Mampad College. As the Programmes gained wider acceptance over the years, to meet the demand of applicants, college opted to start B Voc  Food Technology in 2018 -19, and B.voc Nutrition Science and Dietetics in 2020-21.  For all the Food Technology programs run by the college, inplant training in various food industries and also project work carried out in research institutes / department is mandatory. Department also providing Skill development and Vocational training opportunities  by initiating course in Baking Technician  under Skill Hub initiative PMKVY 3.0
