Department of Commerce

The PG and Research Department of Commerce and Management Studies is the largest department in the college, was established in the year 1965 and has been scaling heights ever since.The courses in the department started with the Pre-Degree Fourth group in 1965. Then upgraded with     B. Com Cooperation in the year 1970, M. Com finance in the year 1999 and B. Com CA & BBA finance in the year 2013. The Department has upgraded as a research Centre in the year 2018. The department has 10 highly qualified, knowledgeable and friendly faculty members.

The students have added to its prestige by securing high marks in semester examinations, competitive examinations and high levels of placements and progressions. Highly professional in nature, the various programmes are intended to provide a foundation for students who plan to pursue their careers in business, commerce, accounting etc. Our M. Com students undergo internship programmes during their fourth semester which makes them more adaptable to the industrial world. Industrial visits are also there for all the classes. Through consistent efforts and upgradation, the Department has carved its niche in the academic circle. The Department aims at enabling exceptional learning experiences for students with immense personalities. The Department annually hosts events such as National and International conferences, national workshops, and Inter-college and inter-department meets, which offer immense opportunities for students, research scholars and faculty members to enhance and expand the boundaries of their knowledge. The Department also encourages the students to participate in events organized by other colleges and also get involved in activities of social relevance. They are enabled to think creatively and to develop the right mindset to exploit opportunities, through value-based education, interpersonal relations and outreach programmes.
