SC/ST MONITORING CELL

The SC/ST Monitoring Cell of the College guides weaker section students to avail of all permissible scholarships and financial assistance and other facilities and privileges. It also ensures to address deep-seated discrimination in our social system. It is clear from the demographic factors that a large section of population of our country is still deprived and marginalized. Our college has always ensured that the weaker sections students do not get left behind in the learning as well as overall academic development process. Teachers pay more attention to their special needs and provide them more encouragement and support by various strategies for the enhancement of the SC/ST students. For this progression, teachers are conducting remedial classes and mentoring sessions.  The SC/ST Cell exclusively looks after the work related the SC/STs matters and no other work is assigned to the Cell.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  • To implement the reservation policy for SC/ST in the College.
  • To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the reservation policy in the University and plan measures for ensuring effective implementation of the policy and programmes of the Government of India in the college.
  • To take follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government of India and the UGC.
  • To enhance the student diversity in the campus.
  • To provide guidance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters

FUNCTIONS

  • To create a socially congenial atmosphere for academic interaction and for the growth of healthy interpersonal relationships among the students coming from various social backgrounds.
  • To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the college and bring social inclusion.
  • To look into the grievances of the weaker section of society and suggest amicable solution to their problems.
  • To help individuals or a group of students belonging to the disadvantaged section of the society to contain the problems related to discrimination.
  • To organize periodic meetings to monitor the progress of different schemes.
  • To sensitize the college on the problems of SC/ST students.
