Department of geology, MES Mampad College, Mampad has conducted a one day workshop on the famous mapping software’s ArcGIS and QGIS. The program was conducted on 12-January-2023 in the college seminar hall. The Head of the department delivered the welcome speech and the workshop was inaugurated by college Principal Dr. Manzur Ali P P

The sessions were handled by Shri. Sanjayan M S, ArcGIS Expert and Research scholar, Department of PG studies and research in geology, MES Ponnani College, Smt. Malavika A R, QGIS Expert and Research scholar, Department of PG studies and research in geology, MES Ponnani College and Smt. Samreena Mohammed, GtAid Expert and Research scholar, Department of PG studies and research in geology, MES Ponnani College.

The workshops provided an opportunity to the students to layout the toposheets and digitalize the specific features in a toposheet. By using the GtAid software the students can easily access the time zone based projections and coordinate based map preparations. The workshop came to an end by 4.30 pm.
